Charity Partnership 2016-2018 - Julia's House

Public houses from leading independent brewer, Hall & Woodhouse have raised a whopping £116,800 during the first year of their charity partnership with Together for Short Lives, the UK charity for children and young people who are expected to have short lives.

Hall & Woodhouse are now well on the way to reaching their two-year partnership target of £200,000. Dedicated staff from across the business have been pulling out all the stops, taking part in sponsored skydives, sponsored bike rides and holding fundraiser coffee mornings. Hall & Woodhouse have also generously donated proceeds from their annual Great Dorset Beer Festival to the charity total.

Lucinda Gray, sixth-generation Woodhouse family member and Hall & Woodhouse Charity Champion, said: “As a company that places community at the heart of our business, supporting worthy causes is very important to Hall & Woodhouse. The incredible work of Together for Short Lives and the children’s hospices they support touches so many lives and helps so many families, so we are proud to be fundraising for them.”

Caroline Attreed, Corporate Fundraiser at Julia’s House said “The enthusiasm and dedication from the teams within Hall & Woodhouse have been outstanding. Julia’s House is 94% funded by community donations - we only receive six per cent of our funding from the government - so the support given to Together For Short Lives will ultimately help us to help local families with life-limited children. We want to make it as easy as possible for these families to get the care and support they need, when the need it. We are extremely grateful to Hall & Woodhouse and for the efforts of their staff.”
